Guláns. Rogelio Groba Groba (1930-2022)

El pasodoble Guláns, que durante la pasada temporada estuvo interpretando la BEMR, es una emotiva pieza con sabor a aldea, aquella (Guláns pertenece al municipio de Ponteareas, en la provincia de Pontevedra) precisamente en la que nace en 1930 Rogelio Groba. El pequeño Rogelio ya con 12 años destaca siendo flautín solista en la banda A Unión de Guláns y con tan sólo 17 años la dirige por primera vez. Con un amplio currículo académico e internacional cabe destacar que fue el fundador de la Orquesta de A Coruña y dirigió el conservatorio de dicha ciudad. Siempre luchó por la creación de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia. Compuso muchas obras (sinfonías (15), óperas (5), conciertos (19), ballets (2), cantatas (14),...) siendo algunas de ellas interpretadas y grabadas por la London Symphony Orchestra entre otras formaciones musicales de gran importancia internacional. Rogelio Groba Groba es, de hecho, uno de los compositores que más obras produjo en todo el panorama musical clásico español. Pero no es tan sólo cuestión de cantidad; sus obras son de gran calidad permitiéndonos disfrutar de un amplio abanico de estilos ya desde la potente y dura Sinfonía número uno "lúdica" pasando por las mágicas Danzas Meigas (ballet) que nos adentran en las brumas de una carballeira hasta la más costumbrista Porriño.
Como referencias auditivas las tres obras mencionadas anteriormente pueden disfrutarse en Youtube, siendo dos de ellas interpretadas por la Sinfónica de Galicia y la tercera por la Banda de Música Sementeira de Cambre.
También es posible comprar el disco Elgar Celo Concierto Groba Celo Goncerto; un poderoso mano a mano interpretado por la London Symphony Orchestra, el refrescante y entretenido Diálogos contando con la fantástica interpretación de Clara Groba, o, por poner otro ejemplo el disco Retratando... interpretado por la Banda Municipal de Música de A Coruña y dirigido por Marcel van Bree.

The pasodoble Guláns, which the BEMR performed last season, is an emotional piece with a village flavor, the one (Guláns belongs to the municipality of Ponteareas, in the province of Pontevedra) precisely in which Rogelio Groba was born in 1930. Little Rogelio, already at the age of 12, stands out as a soloist piccolo in the band A Unión de Guláns and at only 17 years old he leads it for the first time. With a broad academic and international curriculum, it should be noted that he was the founder of the Orchestra of A Coruña and directed the conservatory of that city. He always fought for the creation of the Galician Symphony Orchestra. He composed many works (symphonies (15), operas (5), concerts (19), ballets (2), cantatas (14),...) some of which were performed and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra among other musical ensembles from great international importance. Rogelio Groba Groba is, in fact, one of the composers who produced the most works in the entire Spanish classical music scene. But it is not just a question of quantity; His works are of high quality, allowing us to enjoy a wide range of styles, from the powerful and hard Symphony number one ("Lúdica") to the magical Meigas Dances (ballet) that take us into the mists of a oaks forest to the most costumbrist Porriño.
